About Valerio Di Rosa

Valerio Di Rosa writes football books: for kids who play the game, and for the coaches, analysts and fans who think about it. He writes in English and in Italian, for readers in the UK, the US and Italy.

He grew up playing youth football and still remembers every missed penalty. That's where his books for young readers come from: Football Fairy Tales, twenty-one true stories of teams that did the impossible, and The Football Quiz Book, three hundred questions with every answer explained.

For coaches there is Football IQ for Young Players and its companion book of training sessions, fifty small-sided games that make decisions visible. And there is The Evolution of Football Tactics, a series that follows the game from Total Football to modern pressing, then into the data era, the ninety minutes, every position and every country.

The method doesn't change: take a complicated idea and make it clear without dumbing it down. To hear when a new book comes out, join the newsletter.
